Corporate Safety Director
- Thomas Madden, Corporate Safety Director, joined the company with 17 years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry. Tom implements and manages Schimenti Construction Company’s safety programs, procedures and training, working closely with the executive team to mitigate risk, pre-plan projects and uphold a high standard for safety. With his positive attitude and sincere concern for the health of all construction industry workers, Tom is an industry leader in safe work practices.
- Prior to joining Schimenti Construction, Tom served in risk control roles for a leading insurance carrier, where he handled the risk management services to some of the nation’s largest contractors. Previously, he performed project safety and engineering roles for industry-leading regional and national general contractors, and was the mid-Atlantic division safety manager for a national mechanical contracting firm. Over his career, he has contributed to numerous large-scale projects, including the Pentagon renovation, the National Institute of Health Neuroscience Research Center, Boston’s Central Artery, and a Massachusetts water treatment plant.
- Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Studies from Keene State College and holds numerous safety training certifications. Among his professional designations are Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist, Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor and Emergency Medical Technician. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Associated General Contractors of New York State.
- An avid sports fan, Tom resides in Connecticut with his wife and their two sons. In addition to his passion for food and wine, Tom enjoys golfing, snowboarding and coaching youth sports.
