Schimenti Crew Helps Build Habitat for Humanity Home

On a sunny, hot Saturday in August 2017, a team of 50 Schimenti Construction employees donated their time and effort to help build a home in Yonkers for a disabled veteran.

Alvin Thomas served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1970s and maintains a passion for helping others—especially fellow veterans. A reliable volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Alvin is thrilled to have his own home, thanks to Habitat volunteers like our Schimenti crew.

While building a house is a much smaller project than Schimenti Construction typically tackles, our team’s life-changing work made a real difference by providing a stable place for Alvin and his family to live. Alvin was incredibly humbled and grateful for the generosity of all the volunteers.

On their own time, Schimenti Construction employees put their hands and hearts to work, and they not only made a house, they made a home. That’s Schimenti Spirit in action!
