Schimenti Construction builds flagship store for Pottery Barn

New York City location to open in the Fall of 2017

Schimenti Construction has added Pottery Barn to its portfolio of flagship retail stores in New York City.

Schimenti is currently working on Pottery Barn’s flagship retail store on 10 West 20th, 5th & West 20th in the city’s famed Flatiron District.

The store is set for a Grand Opening in the Fall of 2017.

Schimenti Construction, founded in 1994, has built a strong reputation in the retail construction industry and has developed a solid niche in urban construction. The firm builds retail shopping environments for some of the nation’s leading retailers and restaurants including Target, Under Armour, Victoria’s Secret, Saks 5th, Gap, Ulta, and Zara.

The firm is headquartered in Ridgefield, Connecticut and maintains offices in New York City.

Along with its reputation in urban construction, the company has developed a niche building “flagship” properties for major retailers. Schimenti landed two recent projects on the Insider Trends list of Top 50 Flagship Stores.

The firm was recognized for its work on two New York City stores; Samsung 837 at 837 Washington Street and Nike Soho at 529 Broadway at Spring Street. The stores came in at #7 and #20 respectively, putting both Schimenti projects on the top half of the worldwide list.

For Pottery Barn, Schimenti is building out two floors (ground level and cellar) to create 17.,500 square feet of retail space.

Under the direction of Project Manager Joseph McGowan, workers have laid out mosaic tile on the staircases, installed a new elevator, refinished hardwood floors, and installed natural stone countertops.

This is the first Pottery Barn project for Schimenti.
