New York, NY

SCHEDULE:

10 Weeks

Sargenti Architects

Schimenti Construction recently completed construction of the very first Piperlime store located at 115 Wooster Street, New York, NY.

The design incorporated the original cast-iron columns, extra-high 16 foot ceilings and exposed metal and wood which gave a ‘barn’ look to the interior walls.

Initially introduced by Gap in 2006 as an on-line fashion boutique, Piperlime, is replicating its website in the retail world with this new 7,284 square-foot store. The store’s designer wear is grouped by trends such as “Color Clashing” and “Wear the Pants,” while the top 10 seasonal fashions from Piperlime.com are displayed on a wall. Web pages such as “Girl on a Budget” and picks from stylist Rachel Zoe have turned into racks. The store will have more than 800 items, including shoes, clothing and jewelry.

A curved shoe wall with built-in shelves weaves through the middle of the store, showcasing boots, heels and handbags. Shoppers can relax on couches and benches surrounding painted- white pillars and use touchscreens and a computer to browse Piperlime’s website, receiving free overnight shipping on items unavailable in-store.

Schimenti worked very closely with the Piperlime construction team to assure that this first-ever store accurately reflected the company’s effort to bring its website to life in a bricks and mortar environment.
