Schimenti Construction partnered with Foot Locker to deliver two concurrent retail relocations at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. The projects introduced updated Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker stores, requiring close coordination with the client, mall management, and trade partners throughout construction within the active shopping center.

Foot Locker
The 9,200 SF Foot Locker project involved relocating the store into a former Champs Sports location and transforming the existing space to reflect the retailer’s updated design concept. The renovation incorporated new architectural finishes, signature highlight walls, a redesigned storefront, and distinctive suspended elements that reinforce Foot Locker’s retail identity. Throughout construction, Schimenti coordinated closely with the design team, mall management, and trade partners to address existing building conditions and storefront requirements while maintaining the project’s accelerated schedule.

Kids Foot Locker
The 7,700 SF Kids Foot Locker project also involved relocating the retailer to a new space within Garden State Plaza, creating an updated shopping environment dedicated to children’s footwear and apparel. Construction required coordination of the new store layout and design with existing building conditions, along with close collaboration with local inspectors to address code requirements and resolve inspection challenges. Ongoing communication between the project team and inspectors helped maintain progress toward completion.
