Matthew C. Schimenti

President

Matthew C. Schimenti, President of Schimenti Construction Company, comes from a family with a long history in the design and construction industry. He founded Schimenti Construction in 1997, with a particular focus on retail construction that distinguishes the company as the #1 Retail Contractor in New York.

Under his leadership, the company has successfully completed many high-profile projects, including flagship and landmark stores for well-known retail brands and Fortune 500 companies. Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent customer service have been crucial to the firm’s success under Matthew’s guidance for over two decades.

Schimenti has experienced steady growth under his strategic vision, expanding its operations nationally across various sectors, including hospitality, commercial interiors, and industrial. The recent transition to an ESOP in 2022 has further solidified the company’s position for future growth and next-generation leadership, putting employees and client service at the forefront of business operations

Matthew served as the President of the Retail Contractors Association, following his tenure as Vice President and chairman of its scholarship committee. Additionally, he has been a member of the board of directors of the Associated General Contractors of New York State and a committee advisory board member for the SPECS conference. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the New York Building Congress.

Matthew resides in Connecticut with his wife and children. In his free time, he has a passion for golf and hockey. He also serves as a board member at Bishop Kearny High School in Rochester, New York.
