Schimenti Construction partnered with women’s athleisure brand, Athleta, to deliver a new 4,750 SF retail location at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY. The project involved combining two former mall units into a single retail space, completed within a tight 15-week timeframe.

The store’s interior showcases Athleta’s clean and modern design language, featuring crisp white walls, wood and tile flooring, and a custom-built checkout counter backdrop finished in plaster with a high-gloss blue coating that serves as the space’s visual focal point.

Challenges included navigating mall management protocols, managing a compressed timeline, and coordinating with both the client and architect of record, who were remote based. Through strategic overtime, proactive site visits, and fostering a strong working relationship with the mall, Schimenti maintained momentum throughout the build.

Clear communication and strong coordination ensured the project was delivered on time and aligned with the brand’s elevated retail standards.
