Schimenti Construction completed the interior fit-out of a new 1,785 SF Canali location at Belmont Park Village in Elmont, NY, delivering a refined retail environment tailored to the luxury menswear brand’s elevated aesthetic. The single-story space includes a front-of-house area with fitting rooms and a dedicated back-of-house zone, outfitted with high-end finishes, modern ceiling and flooring treatments, and custom retail fixtures. Notable elements included automatic sliding entry doors and alternate tile flooring selections, chosen to match the intended Italian ceramic look despite lead time constraints.

Executed over a 13-week schedule, the project was delivered on time following a smooth turnover. Schimenti applied lessons learned from prior builds at Belmont Park Village, including proactive subcontractor selection, early coordination of delivery logistics, and preparation for the center’s extensive turnover and approval process. Despite challenges such as tight schedule and budget constraints, the team navigated late-stage design changes and a no-change-order directive from the client with efficiency and agility.

Strong communication between the owner, client rep, design team, and landlord ensured a seamless construction process. Regular OAC meetings and prompt responses helped maintain progress and alignment throughout, resulting in a polished, modern retail environment that reflects Canali’s refined brand identity.
