Schimenti Construction partnered with Target to deliver a new 129,000 SF ground-up store in Springfield, MA. Part of Target’s broader nationwide expansion, the new location was developed to serve the needs of the surrounding community by bringing a wide range of shopping, services, and everyday conveniences together under one roof.

The project included construction of the new building and precast exterior shell, along with a complete interior fit-out and extensive site improvements. Inside, the store features a full sales floor and grocery market, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, fitting rooms, employee areas, offices, stockrooms, and supporting back-of-house spaces. The location also introduces the first Apple at Target experience in the area. Exterior work included the storefront entrance, loading and service areas, parking and curbside pickup spaces, cart corrals, site lighting, and other infrastructure supporting store operations.

Completed as a comprehensive ground-up development, the new Target provides the Springfield community with a modern, convenient destination for shopping and everyday services while supporting the retailer’s continued growth.
