Sara Gutierrez has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the NAWIC Hartford Chapter, beginning her term in October 2024 and continuing through the 2024-2025 year. In addition to her new role as Director, Sara will also serve as the Chairperson for NAWIC Hartford’s Emerging Professionals Committee.
Sara’s journey with NAWIC is a testament to her dedication. She joined in October 2021 as a member and quickly became an active participant in the organization’s initiatives. Her progression to leadership roles reflects her unwavering commitment to advancing women in the construction industry.
Sara chose NAWIC after researching platforms where she could engage meaningfully with other women in the construction sector. She valued an organization that valued each member’s voice and contribution. Over the years, Sara has participated in numerous NAWIC events, including Toolbox Talks and webinars focused on women’s empowerment and navigating a male-dominated industry. Angela Phillips, a fellow member (who also served as President for 2023-2024), introduced Sara to NAWIC Hartford. After meeting several members, she knew it was the perfect fit.
Sara eagerly looks forward to upcoming events including the Coffee and Conversation site visit at O&G in September and the fall forum in Stowe, VT, this November. These events not only offer her the opportunity to represent both the NAWIC Hartford chapter and Schimenti but also to further her professional development and network with peers.
