Alo Yoga, the high-end activewear brand renowned for its modern designs and commitment to mindful living, partnered with Schimenti Construction to transform a 5,600-square-foot space at Westfield Century City Mall less than a mile from Alo’s corporate headquarters. The project involved a complete demolition of the existing space and the creation of a retail environment reflecting Alo’s elevated brand identity. Originally scheduled as an 18-week project, the timeline was expedited to 12 weeks, which required precise planning and execution to ensure delivery.

The store incorporated new prototypes of Alo’s updated millwork, emphasizing their modern design approach. Located in a prime shopping destination, the project demanded meticulous attention to detail to meet the expectations of Alo’s corporate team and maintain the luxury aesthetic of the surrounding area. The build also involved combining the space with an adjacent unit, presenting a significant challenge with uneven flooring across the newly expanded area. The varying floor levels from the previous tenants required extensive work to ensure a seamless foundation for the store’s high-end finishes.

Schimenti addressed these challenges with proactive solutions. An 8-inch infill was added across the space to level the flooring, a critical step in achieving the store’s sleek and polished appearance. Overnight shifts for various trades were implemented to meet the compressed schedule, and the team maintained constant readiness for site visits from Alo’s corporate team, who frequently walked over from their nearby headquarters to monitor progress.

Despite the challenges, the project was completed ahead of schedule, thanks to Schimenti’s commitment to adaptability and efficiency. Strong communication with Alo throughout the build fostered a collaborative relationship, ensuring their vision was met at every stage. This successful partnership resulted in the creation of a modern and inviting retail space that perfectly reflects Alo’s brand and values.
