Schimenti Construction partnered with Chick-fil-A to deliver a new 7,800 SF restaurant in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. Designed to support high-volume service in a dense urban environment, the project introduced a street-facing pickup window and infrastructure upgrades.
The full interior fit-out included all-new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems, along with the installation of a new chiller and HVAC equipment, supported by modifications to the cellar slab. During excavation, structural deficiencies in the existing framing were identified and resolved without delaying progress. Varying floor elevations from years of prior renovations required collaboration with design partners and the flooring manufacturer to create a unified, code-compliant surface throughout the space.
Although utility delays impacted the power timeline, Schimenti remained in constant communication with the Chick-fil-A team and mobilized rapidly when service became available. Weekly coordination and a proactive field approach enabled the team to overcome challenges and achieve a smooth turnover in 34 weeks.
