• The Hall des Lumières is an immersive public art experience located in the former Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank, a New York City Historic Landmark Building.

Schimenti provided construction management services, including the careful restoration of the existing space, interior marble, columns, original bank tellers, stained glass windows, and sculptures — which serves as a multi-sensory backdrop to this unique public art space. This state-of-the-art space creates an immersive creative outlet for visitors and the local community.

The project team included design studio Woods Bagot, Schimenti Construction Company, Avison Young, Culturespaces, a French design group that specializes in the adaptive reuse of historic buildings into video-powered canvases, and IMG, a British global sports, entertainment, and media company.

This particular build required careful coordination of permitting and detailed restoration while integrating the latest technology, building systems, and audiovisual equipment.
