• Longstanding Los Angeles sushi hot spot creator and celebrity magnet Katsuya Uechi has touched down in New York City, marking his highly anticipated expansion into the Northeast.

Schimenti was enlisted to design and construct the 7,000-square-foot space that seats up to 305 guests. The new location features a robata and sushi bar, a large dining room, and an adjoining 100-seat rooftop terrace, as well as two private dining spaces that accommodate up to 44 guests. The design of the restaurant was inspired by Japanese craftsmanship, and Schimenti worked closely with the Katsuya design team to create a unique environment that embodies the brand.

The new Katsuya location in Manhattan West’s Citizen Food Hall is a luxurious addition to the area and is far from the typical vendor stalls found in such environments. Schimenti’s use of high-quality materials and finishes have created a lavish aesthetic that is true to the Katsuya brand, while also incorporating unique elements that set it apart from other locations.
