- Kohl’s and Schimenti have worked together since 2006 on over 192 projects. Schimenti’s value engineering focus has been instrumental in saving Kohl’s time and money on both new construction and renovations.
- As Kohl’s was planning for their New York City Design Office it became apparent that some substantial changes would be required to meet reduced cost projections. The Schimenti team lead a collaborative effort working with manufacturers, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and Kohl’s project team to develop a multi-faceted approach to cost reduction. We ultimately made recommendations that totaled more than $700,000 in possible savings. The client team made the decision to implement a number of the recommendations. Combined with other implemented cost savings recommendations, Kohl’s realized more than $200,000 in savings on the project without any impact on the aesthetics and function of the Design Office.
