Lidl, the global German-based grocery chain with over 12,000 stores worldwide, partnered with Schimenti Construction to open its latest location at Bronx Terminal Market in The Bronx, NY. A valued client since 2019, Lidl has worked with Schimenti on several builds. This 23,000-square-foot location was delivered shortly after the Schimenti-built Lidl Fresh Meadows location.

Designed to meet the demands of a modern grocery store while reflecting Lidl’s recognizable branding and aesthetic, the space features clean lines and functional layouts that align with the company’s global design standards. The store features refrigerated and freezer sections, a dedicated baked goods area, a kitchen, a back-of-house food preparation space, cashier stations, self-checkout kiosks, and a loading dock designed for efficient daily stock deliveries.

The project required precise coordination to navigate the complexities of grocery-specific systems, including refrigeration and mechanical installations. Schimenti worked closely with trade partners and Lidl’s team to ensure all elements were executed seamlessly under a tight 22-week schedule.
