Schimenti Construction completed the 22,535 SF buildout of a new Lidl grocery store in Park Slope, Brooklyn, bringing a long-anticipated supermarket to the corner of Fifth Avenue and Baltic Street. The project adds to previous Lidl locations delivered in Fresh Meadows and the Bronx Terminal Market and introduces a fully accessible shopping environment served by elevators and escalators.

The scope centered on delivering a high-functioning grocery space with significant cellar operations, coordinated mechanical systems, and integration with a newly constructed base building. Major equipment, including balers and front-end registers, was rigged through the freight shaft prior to elevator turnover. The team also assumed responsibility for escalator-related work, constructing access solutions below to support long-term maintenance and functionality.

Additional coordination was required to align building management systems and ensure proper water flow to mechanical units within the new structure. Through proactive field coordination and steady communication with the client and landlord, the store was delivered ready to serve the neighborhood, supporting accessible, everyday grocery shopping in a growing Brooklyn community.
