Schimenti Construction partnered with Primark to deliver the retailer’s new flagship store in the heart of Herald Square. Originally occupied by the Schimenti-built Old Navy flagship, the space was completely renovated into Primark’s new four-level retail destination, which opened in 2026. Located at one of New York City’s busiest intersections, the flagship establishes the international fashion retailer’s presence in one of the country’s most recognizable shopping districts.

The project included a comprehensive interior renovation, a new skylight, and new storefronts along both West 33rd and West 34th Streets. Spanning four floors and more than 54,000 SF of selling space, the flagship offers an expanded shopping experience with dedicated departments for women’s, men’s, children’s, beauty, home, and accessories. Custom architectural features, including glass pavers, Zahner metal panels, Morin panels, and a specialty press room package, were incorporated throughout the store to create a bright, contemporary retail environment designed to accommodate the high customer volumes expected in Herald Square.

Given the project’s location, construction required extensive coordination with the MTA, New York City Department of Buildings, and New York City Department of Transportation. Through careful planning, close collaboration with the client and consultants, and proactive coordination with the agency, the team successfully maintained the project schedule. The completed flagship represents another milestone in Schimenti’s long-standing partnership with Primark while bringing new life to one of Manhattan’s busiest retail areas.
