Schimenti Construction completed the buildout of a new Ulta Beauty store on Manhattan’s bustling 6th Avenue, delivering an 11,000 SF retail space that blends contemporary brand elements with preserved historical character. Located on a high-traffic avenue alongside major national retailers, the store was designed to meet Ulta’s modern retail standards while showcasing the existing structure’s key architectural features. The preserved ceiling and original terracotta-wrapped columns were intentionally featured at the front of the store to highlight the building’s unique history.

The five-month project required extensive coordination due to both site conditions and design complexity. The team managed a large-scale millwork package involving oversized deliveries and detailed installation sequencing, ensuring safety and schedule alignment throughout. Additional challenges included navigating logistics with neighboring tenants and complying with landmark requirements for the building’s exterior.

Through careful planning, consistent on-site supervision, and regular coordination with design partners, vendors, and Ulta’s internal team, the project was delivered on time. Strong communication across all stakeholders helped ensure seamless decision-making and successful project execution, bringing a refreshed beauty retail experience to one of New York City’s most popular shopping districts.
