Schimenti Construction successfully completed the ground-up build of a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Farmingville, NY, located within the Expressway Plaza Shopping Center. This 4,774 square-foot project, built to Chick-fil-A’s P-14 prototype, introduced updated layouts and finishes, with seating for 60 patrons indoors and 24 seats on an outdoor patio. The site also features two drive-thru lanes, a canopy-covered order point, and meal delivery areas, all framed within a steel structure and finished with brick masonry.

The project was initially on schedule but required a 3-week extension due to delays in utility work. Despite the challenges with utility coordination, including working with power, water, and gas companies, Schimenti maintained flexibility and adapted the schedule to meet critical milestones. Notably, Schimenti managed several tasks, including storm drainage, landscaping, and sidewalk repairs, ensuring the project could move forward swiftly.

Schimenti’s proactive communication played a vital role in the project’s success. The team held formal bi-weekly project calls with all stakeholders and weekly touch-base meetings to manage potential risks. Despite the utility delays, Schimenti worked closely with Chick-fil-A, the owner’s rep, and the landlord to develop a detailed completion schedule, ensuring the restaurant opened successfully in October 2024.
